I'm Really Ready...Really

Well I have made it to 34 weeks! Which I am so grateful for, and I have great hopes that we will make it to term. But that doesn't mean that I don't wish the days to please fly by so it can be over and we can finally have her here! I have never claimed to have great patience, so I'm really anxious to have this pregnancy done. I always pictured myself this woman that would breeze through pregnancy, love every moment, and think that being pregnant is about the greatest thing. I have come to find out, that I am not that woman. Me and pregnancy aren't really friends come to find out. Luckily pregnancy and I do have one common goal, to get a wonderful little spirit into our home. So really its a love/hate relationship that we have come to accept.
I am not very big compared to most women at 34 weeks, but I have to say it isn't all easy being little either. Having the same sized baby as most, so compactly inside causes a lot of issues. There seems to be so much that is pinched, poked and pulled that should never be. So even though it make look like there is not much there, there is a whole lot going on inside!
Things have been going pretty well with the pregnancy since my last hospital visit, up until Wednesday night/Thursday. I started having some major back labor pains, cramping like no other, and throwing up. Which if you know me, it takes a lot to make me sick enough to throw up. After calling the doctor he told me that I should go into labor and delivery to be checked out. So off we went. I got there around 8 am and around 12:30 pm I was released. I was having contractions every 3-5 min, with a lot of back labor, but nothing was really progressing, so they sent me home. So I have stayed down for the most part, trying to keep things calm as long as possible. I really hope that we don't have a repeat of the hospital visit until the real thing. It's all a little draining both physically and emotionally. So other than that little adventure, things have been going great. Madalynn is doing great, so that is all that really counts at this point. I hope the next post I do will have cute little pictures of our sweet Maddi! ( O :

Might As Well

I seem to have plenty of time on my hands these days so I thought an update was in order. Well during conference weekend I started having contractions. When I called the doc on call he was very quick to tell me to come in and make sure I wasn't in labor. So we headed to the hospital and what do you know... I was in labor and dilated to a 1. Not exactly what you want to hear at 27 weeks! They started me on steroids to help speed up the baby's lung development. Then I was put on two other drugs to help stop the contractions. They finally calmed down a little around midnight that night, so they moved me upstairs to a better room where I would be staying... I eventually was told that I would probably be staying in the hospital until she was born due to all the health issues I have had in the past and the contractions. Yeah that was a shocker. After a week at the hospital and not progressing but still having contractions they felt ok to let me go home as long as I stayed on bed rest.
So I am trying to be a good mother and stay down for Madalynn's sake. Keeping her put is the most important thing, even if its at the sacrifice of my sanity! Terryl has been great! He is the do it all man, while I lay here cooking our child to a healthy state. He has been finishing the pantry, which is looking great. He and Alexander have been forced into a new relationship as the caretaker.
Well to all those who have ever been on bed rest, I have the greatest respect for you! Any entertainment ideas are always welcome.

Summary

It has been a while since my last post, but I thought I better put something on so that Terryl's belly picture isn't the first thing that you see. ( O :
There really hasn't been much going on, I'm still getting things ready for baby cakes, and that seems to consume most of my time. I've painted wood letters of her name to put in her room, and a perfect vinel phrase to put on her wall. It says "Such a huge miracle in such a little girl", I couldn't have said it better than that!
Terryl has started on the pantry in the kitchen. He was "forced" into buys some needed power tools that he seems to be enjoying very much. He really is doing a great job, and I can't wait to have all that space to use, it will be wonderful. He also has been out of town for just a few days to CA for work. A couple of days is a piece of cake compared to the 6 weeks I did before!
If I'm not caught up in some project for the baby, I'm probably reading. I have become a book worm. Deseret Book as been loving me these last few months. I might as well get the reading in that I want since I have a feeling that I wont have much time after the baby comes. ( O :
Baby is doing wonderful, she is kicking a moving constantly, really! From the ultrasounds she seems to be healthy and doing great. We are so excited to get her here!

Sympathy Weight???

So last night we went out to dinner at Texas Road House. Let me just say it was AMAZINGLY good! We pretty much rolled out of there, it was wonderful! When we got home Terryl and I were comparing our "Buddhas" They say that husbands of pregnant wives sometimes put on "sympathy weight". This could be a great example. ( o :

F.Y.I. It was Terryl's idea to take the picture, plus I told him I was posting it on the blog.
(looking at me in a picture, I don't look like I'm over half way do I? I swear she is in there though!)

It's Finally Finished!

I am so grateful to say that our baby's room is done!! Considering I finished it in about 2 mo. while being pregnant, I think I deserve a gold star! After this last ultrasound it seemed to really motivate me to finish. Seeing her looking so adorable and everything sinking in that she is really coming into our family just sparked motivation. We put the furniture together the last couple of days. Its my new favorite room, I think I could just sit in there all day and be perfectly happy. We got an amazing deal on the furniture, $260 for all three pieces! Usually the crib itself cost that much. You got to love Walmart!

The whole gang together!

The kids just loved the sand!

This is baby cakes, I must say, that is a
mighty good looking arm we have created!

We live such an exciting life...

The kids waiting to get the show on the
road!

Hard to tell see, but the kids all came away
after dinner with beautiful red mugs, the punch
must have been pretty good!

Times this by three, and that will give
you an idea of the amount of wonderful food
we had to enjoy!

Ah, the pink bathroom

The main stairs in this very old, but
very beautiful old home in Paris, Idaho

The week before Terryl came home I went to Bear Lake with my family for a few days. We stayed in this really old house, I think it was around 130 yrs old or something close to that. It was a blast staying with my family like that, just my parents and the kids and grandkids. We went on a covered wagon ride, after having a dinner outside. The kids probably enjoyed it the most, but butt just hurt the whole ride, I wasn't made for wagon rides. It was wonderful to all be in the same home for a few days. We went to the beach and enjoyed the sun and water. It was a wonderful break from life for a moment, and it was just a reminder of how wonderful my family is. I love being with them all! But hands down the best thing while there was the food! Ah I have never eaten so well! You would have thought we packed to stay there for months, we had so much food! So meal time was a great treat! It was sad to have to come home and do my own cooking, which doesn't come close to what was cooked up there!
Well Terryl finally came home and I was so grateful to have him back! We had his brother and his wife, Trent and Eve come and stay with us for a few days. It was nice to have them around for a little while.
Then it seemed that life just started its normal routine, kind of. I have had some "health issues". Shocker I know. The baby is doing perfectly, so no worries there. It actually looks like her due date will be closer to 12/27/09, instead of January. We got some pretty amazing ultrasound pictures of her cute little feet, hands and yes even her bum, indicating that she is indeed a girl! I'm pretty excited to be having a girl, for those that know the story, you will understand why this little girl is my angel. Of course I will be having them check every time to make 100% sure that its a girl, I don't want surprises at the birth! But as far as my health issues, they really don't know what is exactly wrong with me, they can't narrow it down to something. So my days haven't exactly been that exciting, but I hope by the end of this week we will have more answers.
